The Problem
Currently, content creators on Patreon especially emerging and niches, struggle with discoverability on the platform. This challenge hinders their ability to grow their patron base and achieve financial stability. On the other hand, patrons often find it difficult to discover new and diverse creators that align with their interests, which can lead to decreased engagement and support.
The Solution
Through user research our team determined that enhanced filters when a user searches the website coupled with a way to discover active patreon creators by linking their social media platfoms, could ease this issue.

We would like to give users the ability to browse the amazing Patreon content creators by referencing both their interests and their social media contacts.
How Might We… Create a bespoke experience for searching content creators on the Patreon website?
Ideation
Using references to other successful creative content search engines and the Patreon design library, we began to generate ideas.

Quick links to social media accounts, where contacts who have Patreon accounts would populate

Rapid Prototyping
Playing with the Patreon component library, we began to add in our own eye catching details.
Styles & Components
We maintained thei existing design library and also incorporated their video components into our design.
High Fidelity Prototype
This tight turn around for a Hi-Fi Prototype allowed us to see the benefits of allowing users to filter search results, search by interest and link their social media accounts to search creators they may already follow.
These added features serve to generate more followers for their content creators (the heartbeat of their website) and give the users a more empowered search experience.
For future iterations: I would like to create more contrast to text layers, employ the glass effect to the transluscent cards on the page, tighten up the corners of the cards and text fields to compliment Patreons native components and adjust the video content in the background to be more subtle while still remaining fun.
